Start by removing the contents. Take an inventory. Thoroughly evaluate. Decide what you want/don’t want. Re-organize. Then, decide what is missing/what you still need—Phase II.”

Leadership 1:1 Coaching Intensive
Janet Blackall
This is for the leader who wants/needs to recalibrate. Relatively speaking, this is a short-term, high-impact coaching sprint that identifies what’s off, clarifies the leadership identity, and refines the internal leadership Standard Operating Procedure. Ideal for transitions, promotions, or moments of being stuck.
A management conversation pre- and post engagement is recommended (and included). Also includes laser coaching sessions as needed—quick life-line support when fires arise.
Problem-solving real day-to-day challenges
Guidance for resolving counterpart conflicts and tensions
Shifting and strengthening team relationships
Communication Chess — anticipating and influencing interactions with intention
Core leadership development, presence, and nuanced leadership
Succession planning and prepping for future leadership opportunities

High Potential/Whole Leader Core 1:1 Coaching
Breanna
This foundational coaching experience focuses on the inner leadership infrastructure —the stuff beneath the surface that drives decisions and how people show up. Time to establish the personal leadership Standard Operating System. Over 4-6 months, we tackle blind spots, the personal identity/brand, patterns, and beliefs. This involves deep work, custom strategy, and lasting change. Ideal for newer leaders, high potentials, as a retention strategy, or for succession readiness.

Heidi Frye - Executive Coach & Trainer
“I had a full and successful corporate Fortune 500 business career prior to starting my organizational development company, UPwords Inc. in 2005. My experience is rich and my background extensive.
Since 2005, I have worked with clients of all shapes and sizes, in a variety of industries, using various best practices, techniques, and strategies (including my own business experience), to achieve growth and transformation. I am a hands-on coach, fully invested and partnered with clients during their professional development journey.”
Key strengths include:
“Identifying patterns”
Seeing the clients’ CORE issues, allowing us to dig deeper and work at a more foundation level. Layering leadership training on top ensure client development and wins.
Maintaining client integrity while “telling it like it is” and calling out unproductive behaviors
Clients feel partnership and support, knowing we are in this together
Vast knowledge (and training techniques) across many subjects
Knowledge and training on assessments and models
A few relevant background tidbits:
HexArmor - Emerging Leaders Program 2021-2022 & 2023-2024
Michigan Municipal League - Elected Leaders Program - May 2024
Michigan Municipal League - 16/50 Project - 6 years/6 programs - 2017-2024
Nucraft Development Program - (4) yearlong programs + miscellaneous training
Notions Marketing - Operations Leadership Development program
I am a business person at heart and see the big picture. My corporate background across a few (very different) industries gives me a unique perspective in seeing patterns in client companies.
As a recruiter for 6 years, I handled the Industrial desk, recruiting, coaching, and befriending top talent and employers from the various industries including plastics, packaging, metals, safety, manufacturing, and electrical industries (in addition to others), providing vast perspective and industry knowledge.
I’ve conducted numerous on-site client visits and have developed a cursory knowledge of many manufacturing products and processes in a variety of industries.
I have a passion for development and leadership, and because there is so much depth in the UPwords Inc. process, and I have much to say, I wrote a book(!) - The Light Switch-Plugging Into Your Core Power to Transform How You Lead, and launched a podcast - Charging Up Leadership (w/ Heidi Frye).
I have coached hundreds (thousands if including public speaking events) in a variety of positions, from C-level to individual contributor, including leadership roles within manufacturing, I.T., and operations.
I am a driven, success-oriented person, (awards and accolades in the Career Highlights section) who gives 100% in working toward client goals.
I help people grow, develop, and transform through executive coaching, workshops & training, and keynote addresses/public speaking.
In three of my previous jobs, I was the only female professional.
